OUR FAVOURITE BOARD GAMES FOR THE FAMILY
As a family, we love board games (especially at Christmas). We play them every week and when we are at home, it is great way for us to unwind and get together as a family and enjoy some competitive time.
We have been meaning to put together a Top 10 Family Board Game blog for a long time, and now we have a really good collection which will be form the basis for our list.

We recently purchased the game from Smyths and we absolutely love it. Its super easy to play and really fun. The game is about working as a team and trying to complete the game by reaching the centre of the board together. Some tasks are done in groups and some are individual, some require the participants to be active and some are make you use your mind and imagination.

3. THE TRAITORS SPECIAL EDITION CARD GAME:

4. CHEATWELL GAMES FAMILY QUIZ NIGHT GAME:

Quiz nights are a standard inclusion for board games, and this one is especially required for the whole family. Its a junior trivia and adult trivia all rolled into one, the questions have been crafted so that both kids and adults can play on a level playing field. Each card contains a multiple choice question for the younger players and a more challenging question for the adults. The categories have been split into TV, Geography, History, Science and Nature, Movies, People, Music and Pot Luck.

This classic card game of matching colours and numbers is a huge hit in our household. Whenever the board games come out, we must play a few hands of UNO as everyone loves the competitiveness and the fun of the game in general. We also bring our deck away on holiday so we can play whenever we like.

Dobble is a card game which is fast paced and tests your observation skills and reflexes. There are 5 different mini games that can be played with the same deck, from “Fill the Well”, “The Towering Inferno”, “Hot Potato”, “Catch Them All” and “The Poisoned Gift”. The sets also come in lots of different themes, like ours is a Disney themed one, but there is also Harry Potter, Marvel, DC Comics, Mario, etc.

8. HARRY POTTER TRIVIAL PURSUIT:

This handy, compact and travel friendly Trivial Pursuit contains 600 questions based on the Harry Potter films. The questions are quite difficult and would definitely challenge the smartest of wizards. There are 6 different categories of questions which are, Dark Arts, Hogwarts, Magical Spells & Potions, Magical Objects, Magical People and Animals & Magical Creatures.

This is a great family friendly game which pits players against each other to build a crossword grid as quickly as possible. Bananagrams is really good for educational purposes also, and it can help your kids how to spell and have fun at the same time. The game can be taken on travels as it is compact and doesn’t need too much space to play.
We highly recommend this game for the family.

We recently purchased this game and brought it on holiday and it is a really good addition for our collection. The game is easy to learn and quick to play, where the aim is the shout out a word that links the letter on one card to the category on another.
